Eugenia Post Meridiem sind eine extrem junge Indie-Rockband aus Italien, die mit Low Tide ein extrem atmosphärisches Debüt abgeliefert haben.
Eugenia Post Meridiem ist wieder eine dieser extrem jungen Bands, über die man fast keine brauchbaren Informationen findet. Alles was ich über die vierköpfige Band weiß, ist, dass sie aus Italien kommen, heute ihre erste Single Low Tide veröffentlicht haben und diese verdammt sexy klingt.
Die ganze Nummer fängt ziemlich verträumt und post-rockig an. Der Song plätschert unspektakulär, aber schön atmosphärisch vor sich hin. Gegen Ende läutert dann ein lässiger Turnaround mit angeheftetem Solo das Ende an. Laidback in den Sonnenuntergang. Oder am See chillen. Ach, eigentlich egal was machen.
Besonders spannend an dem Song finde ich die Vocals. An mehreren Stellen benutzt sie eine besondere Singtechnik, für die es bestimmt einen altbackenen Fachbegriff gibt, auf den sich irgendein Musikprof einen drauf runterholt. Das soll uns hier aber nicht weiter stören, denn genau dieses, nennen wir es proletarisch mal „zittern“, gibt dem Song, der Band das authentische Etwas. Der berühmte Haken, der mich hooked, damit ich nochmal zurückkomme und mir Low Tide ein zweites Mal anhöre.
Tolles Debüt, ich wünsche mir in Zukunft noch mehr von Eugenia Post Meridiem. Vielleicht ja sogar in italienischer Sprache? 😉
