Cynister hat mich mit No Man zuerst gelangweilt und dann komplett überrascht. Ein Song der etwas anderen Art, dabei aber vollkommen einzigartig! Promise.
Wer regelmäßig Pickymagazine liest, der hat bestimmt gemerkt, dass sich die Musikauswahl auf der etwas alternativen Schiene bewegt. Kein Mainstream, wenig Kaugummi-Pop un vor allem nicht dieser verkackte Trap und alles was damit zu tun hat. Eher so Indie-Krams, Shoegaze, Dream-Pop, Neo-Soul und son hipsteriger Scheiß. Soweit so gut.
Cynister hat mich tatsächlich aber voll aus der Bahn geworfen, wie Kontrolleure den besoffenen Vogel einen Vierer weiter, der sein Essen nicht drin behalten konnte. Okay, hatte schon bessere Wie-Vergleiche. Nevertheless wollte ich nur ankündigen, dass Cynister mit No Man etwas vollkommen anderes ist, als das bisherige Programm so angeboten hat.
Der Song fängt ziemlich radio-mäßig an. Langsamer Fade-In, ein paar einfache Percussions für den Rhythmus, auch die Stimme ist nicht wirklich einzigartig. Doch zwischen all dem bahnt sich ganz unscheinbar eine gewaltige Explosion an! Boom! Schon nach 43 Sekunden ist es soweit, der Mann ko…der Vulkan bricht aus! Energie und Power spritzen durch die Gegend.
No Man klingt wie die versaute, fetzige Taylor Swift aus einem Paralleluniversum. Rockig, laut, wütend! Da steckt richtig Power hinter der Stimme. Die Strophe ist eher weniger spannend, dafür kommt der Chorus aber noch energetischer rüber! Ich bin absolut begeistert von diesem Brett, was mir da in die Fresse gehauen wird. Im übertragenen Sinne. Das letzte Mal, dass ich so überrascht wurde, war bei Graham The Empire. Da gab es nämlich auch so sägende Gitarren an unerwarteter Stelle. Kürzen wir es ab.
