Lodato & PollyAnna haben mit Sober eine wunderschöne, melancholische Ode über das Trinken geschrieben.
Zuallererst dachte ich, dass Sober ein Cover von einem bekannten EDM-Song wäre. Nach einiger Recherche habe ich festgestellt, dass sowohl Mahalia, als auch Childish Gambino, Afrojack, Lorde und ungefähr tausend andere Künstler einen Titel namens Sober im Repertoire haben. Wie auch immer, am Ende habe ich dann gecheckt, dass diese Version von Lodato & PollyAnna einfach nur eine Live-Version ihres eigenen Songs ist. Nachdem das Kopf-Chaos nun beseitigt wäre, können wir uns ganz diesem melancholischen Song hingeben.
Was mir an Sober besonders gut gefallen hat, war die sofortige Stimmung die gleichzeitig mit dem Klavier einsetzt. Nachdenklich, melancholisch, vielleicht auch ein bisschen kitschig klingen die ersten Sekunden. Dann setzen die Vocals ein und überzeugen mich komplett. So sanft und weich, außerdem bin ich ein Fan von weiblichen Vocals, die so nackt auf akustische Elemente gelegt werden. Hehe.
Lodato & PollyAnna haben mit Sober eine wirklich wunderbar traurige Nummer geschrieben, die einen beim Hören mitnimmt und den Schmerz des lyrischen Ichs mitfühlen lässt.
