ok.danke.tschüss haben mit Vincent van Gogh ein großartiges Stück deutscher Musik geschrieben. Ziemlich on point, wortgewandt und frech überzeugt der Song auf allen Ebenen!

Nachdem das Musikvideo zur Single letzte Woche bereits zum Musikvideo der Woche gekürt wurde, kommt jetzt die Review zur Single! Das Mannheimer Quartett wurde erst 2018 gegründet, ist also noch ganz jung und frisch, klingt dafür aber schon verdammt gereift und erwachsen. Beides trifft wohl auch auf Heidi Klum zu, die soll aber hier eine eher untergeordnete Rolle spielen. Vincent van Gogh ist das Debüt von ok.danke.tschüss und legt die Messlatte ziemlich hoch. 

ok.danke.tschüss haben mit dem Song ein Thema angeschnitten, was mich persönlich auch schon länger begleitet. Leitfrage der Single ist: Wer legt eigentlich fest, was Kunst ist? Interessanterweise hatte ich erst neulich eine persönliche Erfahrung in Form einer Diskussion mit einer Person, die dachte, sie hätte diese komplexe Thematik geistig durchdrungen. Nach der zweiten Nachfrage meinerseits war dann allerdings schon das Ende der Fahnenstange erreicht und außer Gestammel war nichts mehr zu erwarten. Zu gerne hätte ich damals schon von Vincent van Gogh gewusst, um den Song dieser Person zu zeigen. Schade.

Wer legt eigentlich fest, was Kunst ist?

Um die Sache mal kurz aufzuklären, in diesem Falle: Ich, Picky Tim. Mein Blog, meine Regeln. Wer meine Über mich Seite gelesen hat, der weiß vielleicht, dass ich mit diesem Blog versuche, gute Musik abseits des Mainstreams zu pushen. Und offen gesagt, suche ich auch nach genau solchen Diamanten wie ok.danke.tschüss. Ehrlich und authentisch, das sind zwei Eigenschaften die ich in der heutigen Zeit immer mehr vermisse und daher dagegen anzugehen versuche. Zurück zum Thema.

„Ich hab ein Ohr mehr als Vincent van Gogh“

Textlich haben ok.danke.tschüss mich zu 100% überzeugt. Ich könnte eigentlich den ganzen Text hier als Zitat reinpacken, so gut gefällt mir jede einzelne Zeile. Manche Parts zerlegen einfach nur Lifestyles auf Meta-Ebene, andere sind ziemlich witzige Wortspiele. Manchmal wird gesungen, dann wieder nur gesprochen. Das macht den Song sehr interessant zu hören und hält konsequent die Spannung oben.

Wer schon mal auf einer Pseudo-Kunstausstellung war, kann das Leiden der Band bestimmt noch besser nachvollziehen. Wer kennt nicht die besonders lauten Dummschwätzer, die zwar keine Ahnung von der Materie haben aber trotzdem durchgängig labern? Über genau diese Art von pretentiösen Menschen machen sich ok.danke.tschüss lustig. Und das finde ich ziemlich stark und erfrischend!

Wer hat noch ein Ohr mehr als Vincent van Gogh?

Vincent van Gogh klingt musikalisch etwas nach Songs von Von Wegen Lisbeth. Irgendwie funky, viele Synthies und eine Prise von leicht zugänglichem Pop. So oder so ähnlich könnte man die Musik von ok.danke.tschüss wohl beschreiben. Die Songstruktur und Instrumentierung erzeugen Dynamik, in dem Song gibt es wenig Wiederholungen. Der Turnaround sorgt außerdem für einen schönen Kontrast, weicht dabei aber weder von der Stimmung noch vom übergeordneten Thema des Songs ab. Grandios.

Ist am Ende also doch alles nur Intepretationssache? – Heute nicht!

ok.danke.tschüss haben mit Vincent van Gogh einen der besten Newcomer-Starts hingelegt, den ich bisher in meiner kurzen Blogger-Karriere erleben durfte. Auf so vielen Ebenen einfach nur stimmig, bringt der Song so viele Dinge radikal auf den Punkt. Eine wahre Offenbarung. Sowohl Musik, als auch Texte und das Musikvideo stecken voller kleiner Details und Vielschichtigkeit, sodass man sich die Single wirklich mehrfach anhören sollte, um alles mitzunehmen. Man merkt, dass sehr viel Liebe und Arbeit investiert wurde – und wie das im Universum nun mal so ist, kommt genau das zurück, was man auch reinsteckt. 

Nach eigener Aussage der Band wird es dieses Jahr noch viel viel mehr Musik geben und ehrlich gesagt freue ich mich richtig darüber! Außerdem spielt die Truppe den ganzen Sommer über viele Festivals, man kann sie also auch live erleben. Check doch mal die Website von ok.danke.tschüss.
