La Dante hat mit Gambling Man eine authentische und zurückgelehnte Liebesballade vorgelegt, die den Herzschmerz gar nicht mehr so stark erscheinen lässt.
La Dante ist der Künstlername des Musikers Maxwell Perla aus den USA. Bereits seit 10 Jahren in der New Yorker Musikszene aktiv, konnte der junge Künstler schon einige Erfahrungen sammeln. Hauptsächlich als Drummer eingesetzt, wurde es La Dante schnell zu langweilig und er begann, seine eigenen Songs zu schreiben.
2018 erschien dann La Dantes erste Single Mexico Sunrise. Die Nummer war zwar noch etwas unsicher, doch man konnte schon erkennen, in welche Richtung die Reise gehen würde. Dieses Jahr meldet er sich nun mit seiner zweiten Single Gambling Man (Time to Walk Away) zurück, die deutlich reifer und zielgerichteter klingt.
Musikalisch erinnert mich der Song sehr an Matt Duncans Song Beacon. Schöner entspannter Indie, der die Ohren mit angenehmen Synthiemelodien massiert. Die Drums sind luftig leicht und erzeugen gemeinsam mit La Dantes feiner Stimme eine ganz besondere Atmosphäre. Auch wenn das Thema eher etwas deeper und melancholischer ist, hat der Song am Ende doch einen positiven Grundvibe. Toller Song zum Entspannen und träumen. 🙂
