Drangsal ist einer dieser Künstler, der mir schon 2016 von Freunden empfohlen wurde. Ich hatte leider bisher noch keine Zeit mir seine Musik anzuhören. Dieses Jahr ist sein zweites Album Zores erschienen und ich bin endlich dazu gekommen, mal reinzuhören! Auf Zores finden sich einige mehr oder weniger schräge Songs mit noch schrägeren Musikvideos (siehe unten). Da dachte ich, dass ich mir die Band um Max Gruber im Café Glocksee in Hannover einmal unvoreingenommen anschauen sollte. *Spoiler*das war wohl eine der besten Entscheidungen, die ich in sehr langer Zeit getroffen habe.
Drangsal. Hands down. Das war glaube ich das witzigste, chaotischste und unvorhersehbarste Konzert, auf dem ich jemals war. Wirklich! Zeitweise hatte ich das Gefühl, das artet gleich zu einer großen Jeder-mit-Jedem-Party aus, weil die Stimmung einfach so krass am Kochen war, wie Gordon Ramsey. Es sind so viele überraschende Dinge passiert, dass ich gar nicht weiß, wo ich anfangen soll. Ah Stop, die paranoide Stimme in meinem Kopf schlägt mir gerade vor, bei der Vorband anzufangen. 
Diese hieß Pabst und sah schon optisch ziemlich punkig aus. Immerhin hatte der Sänger grüne Haare! Eine drei Mann starke Band die ordentlich Lärm gemacht hat. Gleich vorweg, überhaupt nicht meine Musik, deswegen spare ich mir jetzt jegliche Belustigungen und Beleidigungen, das wäre nicht fair. Kleines Feedback am Rande, vielleicht ein bisschen weniger Distortion und Noise. Nach dem dritten Mal Gitarre an den Verstärker halten, um Rückkopplung zu erzeugen, war der Move dann auch ausgelutscht.
Kommen wir zum Main-Act. Drangsal. OMG. Die Band war eine Freakshow, angeführt vom sympathischen Ober-Freak Max Gruber persönlich. Von Kindergarten-Erzieher, über Mathe-Lehrer, bis hin zu John-Travolta-Abklatsch war optisch wirklich alles dabei. Mein persönliches Highlight: Der Bassist Sam, der einfach wirklich in weißem Tank-Top und Paisley-Samthose aufgetreten ist. Habe noch nie jemanden so unmotivierten und außerdem sadistisch lächelnden Menschen auf der Bühne gesehen. Angela Merkel vielleicht. Gefühlt hat er sich für jede zweite Ansage von Max Gruber zwischen den Songs fremdgeschämt.
Auf der anderen Seite der Skala gab es noch den Drummer, der wohl den Spaß seines Lebens hatte. Die Hi-Hats haben richtig gescheppert und auch die Arbeit an der Kick-Drum war wirklich ordentlich. Wahrscheinlich muss der sonst im Proberaum immer leiser spielen und an dem Abend konnte er endlich mal so richtig die Sau raus lassen, wie vegane Aktivisten. Das war richtig schön mit anzusehen!
Drangsal haben sowohl Songs vom neuen, als auch alten Album gespielt. Songs wie Sirenen, Magst Du mich (Oder magst Du bloß noch dein altes Bild von mir) Allan Align und Und Du? – Vol. ll haben mich live echt überzeugt. Allerdings war die Akustik etwas mau, man hat zu viel Schlagzeug und zu wenig Gesang gehört. Das war ein bisschen ärgerlich. Gefühlt waren die Vocals aber in astreiner Studioqualität. auch die Hardcore-Fans haben sie glaube ich alle glücklich gemacht. Die besten Songs kamen natürlich in dramaturgisch sinnvoller Reihenfolge und es gab sogar noch zwei Cover obendrauf, doch dazu später mehr!
Die oben erwähnten Highlights passierten in dieser Reihenfolge: Während Max einen Song ankündigte, gab es aus dem Publikum extrem deplatzierte Antifa-Parolen und die Band wussten anfangs gar nicht, wie sie damit umgehen sollten. Max hat dann einfach abgewartet und den netten Jungs zwei, drei schnippische Sätze um die Ohren gehauen. Dann war für den Rest des Konzertes auch Ruhe.
Nach einem anderen Song gab es dann eine kurze „Saufpause“ und Max hob seinen Gin Tonic hoch. Hätte natürlich keiner wissen können, dass die Rechnung volles Glas + besoffene Menschen = Exeeen! ergeben würde. Tja, da stand er nun und zog ein volles Glas Gin Tonic weg. In dem Moment kippte der Abend in eine noch chaotischere Richtung und multiplizierte den Witzfaktor noch weiter.
Exakt einen Song später sind unserem John-Travolta-Double die Bass-Saiten gerissen und leichte Panik kam auf. Zum Glück stand der Pabst-Bassist noch draußen vor der Tür und hielt seinen Bass gegen den Verstärker, sodass dieser einfach benutzt werden konnte. In der Zwischenzeit suchte Max mit dem Publikum einen Song, den er covern konnte. Eine Prinzessin aus dem Publikum meldete sich und wünschte sich Bigmouth Strikes Again von The Smiths. Das gab John Travolta genug Zeit, den neuen Bass einzustimmen und sich Pomade in die Haare zu schmieren. Nach dem Cover war also wieder alles in Butter, wie Krümel und Haare. Diese kleine Geschichte beendete Max mit diesen heiligen, unzensierten Worten:
Wenn jetzt hier jemand von der Presse da ist und schreibt, dass das unprofessionell ist oder so, der soll sich ficken! Wir improvisieren hier!
Ganz im Gegenteil mein Lieber! Unterhaltungsfaktor hoch 10. Gegen Ende bekam das Konzert noch einen kleinen Schützenfest-Charakter. Bei einem der letzten Songs hat sich Max in einer grazilen Mischung aus von der Bühne fallen und crowd-surfing nochmal in die Menge begeben und hat dort wild abgedanct. Momenteweise konnte ich ihn auf dem Rücken eines mit seinem Blick hilfesuchenden Konzertbesuchers erkennen. Plötzlich steht Max dann wieder auf der Bühne und legt noch einen drauf! Ausziiiiehen! Gesagt, getan. Da stand er nun, so ganz ohne Kleidung.
Der abschließende Soundtrack dazu: Tausendmal berührt von Buddy (#Mallorca, #saufen, #titten, #schland). Ausnahmsweise kam der Titel aber ganz geil, weil unser Drummer einen ordentlichen Discobeat druntergelegt hat. Man mag es sich kaum vorstellen, aber die jungen hippen Leute mit ihren Umhängebeuteln und Second-Hand-Pullovern haben wirklich dazu getanzt.
Abschließend kann man sagen, dass das Konzert wirklich das witzigste war, auf dem ich jemals gewesen bin. Period. Nach dem der Gin Tonic gedowned wurde, wusste eigentlich keiner mehr im Raum, was als nächstes passieren würde. Ich hab so gut gelacht, wie lange nicht mehr. Von daher: Hut ab und Respekt für diesen wirklich unterhaltenden Abend. Intellektuelle würden jetzt wohl Chapeau oder sowas schreiben, aber das lassen wir mal lieber. 🙂
